First Generation

     1. Edward RIGGS  died on 1 May 1671.

 

Edward married Elizabeth (Riggs) ??? .

 

They had the following children:

 

+          2 F  i.  Mary RIGGS .

 

 

Second Generation

 

     2. Mary RIGGS  (Edward).

 

Mary married Benjamin Twitchell  in 1635 in Roxbury, Mass.. Benjamin was born in 1599 in England.

I have been told by those who should know that the name was twitchell rather than
Twitchell. I am open for discussion on this matter.

 

They had the following children:

 

+          3 M i.  Joseph Twitchell  was born about 1640. He died on 24 Oct 1710.

 

 

Third Generation

 

      3. Joseph Twitchell  (Mary RIGGS, Edward) was born about 1640. He died on 24 Oct 1710 in Sherborn, Mass..  

Joseph married Lydia (Johnson?) from Lancaster who died in Sherborn 27 apr 1725. He was son of

Benjamin Twitchell (born 1599 in England) and Mary Riggs whose parents were Edward and Elizabeth

Riggs in Roxbury in 1635 from England. Edward died may 1, 1671. His will mentions Mary Riggs

Twitchell.

 

 

Joseph married Lydia (JOHNSON?) . Lydia was born in Langcaster. She died on 27 Apr 1725 in Sherborn, Mass..

 

They had the following children:

 

+          4 M i.  Joseph Twitchell  was born on 3 Sep 1688. He died on 31 Jan 1728.

 

 

Fourth Generation

 

      4. Joseph Twitchell  (Joseph Twitchell, Mary RIGGS, Edward) was born on 3 Sep 1688. He died on 31 Jan 1728.  

 

 

Joseph married Elizabeth HOLBROOK  daughter of John HOLBROOK and Silence WOOD. Elizabeth was born on 22 Jul 1696.  

 

 

Joseph and Elizabeth had the following children:

 

+          5 M i.  Joseph Twitchell  was born on 13 Feb 1718. He died on 12 Mar 1792.
 

 

 

Fifth Generation

 

     5. Joseph Twitchell  (Joseph Twitchell, Joseph Twitchell, Mary RIGGS, Edward) was born on 13 Feb 1718 in Sherborn, Mass.. He died on 12 Mar 1792.  

 Joseph was a Capt in militia in 1776. He was at one time a Magistrate,

Town Clerk and a Representative.

 

 

Joseph married Deborah FAIRBANKS  daughter of Capt. Eleasur FAIRBANKS and Martha BULLARD on 28 Jun 1739. Deborah was born on 12 Nov 1719 in Sherborn, Mass.. She died on 12 Sep 1775.  

Her will was made and probated on 12 Dec 1711.

 

 

Joseph and Deborah had the following children:

 

+          6 F  i.  Martha Twitchell  was born on 16 Dec 1747. She died on 14 Mar 1822.


 

 

 

Sixth Generation

 

     6. Martha Twitchell  (Joseph Twitchell, Joseph Twitchell, Joseph Twitchell, Mary RIGGS, Edward) was born on 16 Dec 1747. She died on 14 Mar 1822 in Keene, NH.  

 

Martha married Rev. Nathan BIXBY  son of Joseph BIXBY and Mehitable RUGG on 3 Oct 1771 in Sherborn, Mass.. Nathan was born on 14 Oct 1746 in Framingham, Mass.. He died on 15 Sep 1818 in Keene, NH.  

Nathan served in the revolution. see p177 vol II Bixby Genealogy. A private in Capt.

Gardner Co. Mass. Malitia 1776.

 

 

Nathan and Martha had the following children:

 

+          7 F  i.  Julia BIXBY  was born on 17 May 1782. She died on 17 May 1782.
 

 

 

Seventh Generation

 

      7. Julia BIXBY  (Martha Twitchell, Joseph Twitchell, Joseph Twitchell, Joseph Twitchell, Mary RIGGS, Edward) was born on 17 May 1782 in Dublin N. H. She died on 17 May 1782 in Canandaigua, Ontario County, New York. .

 

 

Julia married (Edward?) Alexander MILLIKEN  son of William MILLIKEN and Esther TAGGERT on 28 Oct 1804. (Edward?) was born on 8 Sep 1778 in Peterboro, NH. He died on 13 May 1864 in Keene, NH.  

Alex lived in Keene, NH where he was constable, auctioneer, and active in

Washingtonian movement. 

 

(Edward?) and Julia had the following children:

 

+          8 M i.  Mortimer Delville MILLIKEN  was born on 11 May 1805. He died on 5 Feb 1900.

               9 F ii.  Emily Maria MILLIKEN  was born on 9 May 1807.

             10 M   iii.  Joseph Bixby MILLIKEN  was born on 28 Sep 1809.

             11 M   iv.  Edward Alexander MILLIKEN  was born on 13 Jun 1813.

             12 M v.  Nathan James MILLIKEN  was born on 27 Sep 1821.
